Fall Tree Leaves Painting

Fall is a favorite time at our house. The girls love the colors on the trees and so do I. We did this fun Fall Leaves tree painting and had so much fun with it.

During the fall we have a favorite book: Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf. I think we read it more than any other fall book that we have. We have done several activities with it. This year we did a fall painting similar to our Spring Blossom Tree Painting. I just love how much fun it is to explore the seasons.

What you need: paper, baby oil, brown, yellow, red, & orange paint, and foam brushes.

You cover the paper with baby oil. It will need to soak in and then dry. You can prepare this ahead of time, which is what I do. You can see a better example of how we did this in the Shadow Painting

Then you start painting your tree onto the paper. It is lots of fun to do this and we all enjoy painting. Everyone has a different idea of what their tree will look like. After you finish you let your tree dry for a while. It makes sure that the tree does not get mixed up in the leaves.

The fun part about this project is that it hangs so nicely in the window. Here is a look at all four of our paintings.
