Coloring Flowers

We cut up 4 stems of mums. The girls each picked a color. Amelia picked red. Mary picked yellow. Rose picked green. We kept one set white to compare later.

After a few hours we checked and saw some changes already. The green showed up the fastest. Yellow was the hardest to see just looking at the flower.

The next day we saw more of a change. Amelia liked how she could see the color strips on the petals. We talked about how the flowers pull the water up the stems to the petals.
