How we made the Tissue Paper Firework Craft
You will see all the steeps we used to make the tissue paper firework craft.
Cutting the Wax Paper
We used a single piece of paper under the wax to help me get the same size for the paper.
We use the paper landscape to get a bigger firework and it helps make the paper square. You can see the firework fine motor mat on the paper we used.
Draw a Firework on the White Paper
You can give kids a blank piece of white paper for them to draw the firework. This let them decide how big or small the firework is. And how the firework will look.
But if you have someone who can’t draw the firework use the firework fine motor mat to use as a template for the firework.
Cut the Tissue Paper
Next you can have kids who are older cut out the tissue paper. I give them strips of tissue paper to cut. This also lets them get fine motor work in with cutting practice. They also then get to pick out the colors they want for their firework.
Now if you have someone who is not up for cutting the tissue paper you can always have it cut out in advance. You can see some of the cut tissue paper we did.
Place Glue on the Wax Paper
You want to place the firework that they drew or the firework fine motor mat under the wax paper. Then you will line the individual lines of the fire work with glue.
I suggest that you only do one line at a time. It was easier for use to less likely to mess up.
Also if the paper under the wax paper moves to much use tape to keep it in place
Place Tissue Paper on the Glue Line
You place the tissue paper on the glue line. You can see that it is a great fine motor activity to place the colored tissue paper on the lines.
And remember this is their firework and they can use the colors they want. Let them have fun mixing colors or doing a single color. This is their art project.
Keep repeating the steps of glue each of the lines of the firework and placing the tissue paper on the line.
You can also check out this firework handprint craft that would also go great with this firework craft.
Fill In the Space with Black Tissue Paper
The final step on this project is filling in the space around the firework with black tissue paper.
I highly suggest you only do one section of the firework at a time with the glue. You don’t want to fill all the blank space with glue. It is easier to go one area at a time.
