May 2014 Book Finds
Every month we look for different books. We always find new books each month. This months books are some fun ones, there is a wordless book, mommy book, bedtime and book with just 2 words. These were all library finds!
I always encourage people to use the library! We love the library and I think my girls would go 4 times a week if I let them go. If you have not checked out your library do it! I have a great post about Using the Library that you should read as well.
Moo! is a book with just two words in it. The main word is “Moo!”. How many different ways can you say the word moo. It is a great book to teach inflection in reading. It is a fun book to just be creative with your voice. My girls loved this book. It was a library find for us.
Inside Outside is a fun wordless book. Each page has a small cut out that works for the next page. A snowman outside becomes a fun picture on a fridge inside. I loved the pictures and had a fun time talking about each page of the book. What is inside and outside? Why are they different? Wordless books bring lots of fun.
Sleepyhead is a book about bed time. Sleepyhead just wants one more thing at bed time. I love the shape of the words. The words all have different size and boldness. You start small and go to big. It is a fun book to read the words with a level of your voice matching the size of the words.
Where’s Mommy? (Mary and the Mouse) is a story about a girl and her friend mouse. The both live in the same house and have not let anyone know they are friends. One night they are both looking for their mommy! It is fun to watch as they both search the same house in the same ways. I love the different pictures for each of the words. They use similar words that can mean the same thing.
The Girl Who Heard Colors is a good book about introducing the five sense and a good book for learning about something different called synesthesia. This is a way to introduce a way that some people see things. I love the book and the subject that is covers.
Did you find any good books this month?

Even though my son is too old for these, I’m always on the look-out for great books for the children who I teach. These look excellent!
We’ll have to see if our library has these in! Thanks for linking up with The Thoughtful Spot!
