Fall Ribbon Tree

Fall is almost here and then trees are starting to change. It is very fun time of year here in New England. I love looking at the trees and how different all the leaves are.

For a fun project that we did this fun ribbon tree. We used some different colors of ribbon that had a wire in them so we could mold the leaves on the tree. We read Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf before this project. This really is one of our favorite fall books. I think we read it at least 5 or 6 times a week during the fall.

What you need: roll of paper, wire ribbon cut up, glue, masking tape, and brown markers. A tree outline was put on the bottom. I also layer two lengths of the roll over lapped so it would fit on our door.

We started by coloring in the trunk of the tree. It was fun to see how everyone worked together. I also helped with this project. This was a family craft project.

The next step was putting on glue and the ribbon. We layered some of the ribbon and put the three colors all over the tree. We all took turns applying the glue. It was load of fun to see the shape and the

  1. The tree is beautiful! Think of how much your children learned about texture, color, and media from this simple, yet gorgeous project. A great cooperative learning opportunity, too! :o)
