Stomping Dinosaur Gross Motor Dice
I’m always looking for fun ways for my girls to burn off their energy when it gets colder outside. We do lots of gross motor with picture books. One of our favorite gross motors that we did over the summer was with Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs. We had so much fun with that book; my girls wanted a dinosaur themed dice activity for them to do.
I pulled out the clip art and put together a fun gross motor activity with dinosaurs for them to do. It is fun and easy to do. And kids can have fun rolling the dice for a while and getting some great gross motor in during your day.
This printable is also part of the 31 days of Free Printables! Royal Baloo and I have had so much fun with this series! We are always looking for fun and creative ideas.
One thing I love is doing gross motor activities. I always have, and it was what I got my degree in so many years ago. Now I use it mostly with my girls when we want to do something fun. It is great to see them laugh and play while doing the gross motor. Dinosaurs have always been a themed we have loved to do.
There are two dice in this set. There is one for the dinosaur movements. The other dice is for the speed you do the movements. We always start with reviewing the movements on the dice before we add in the speed. The cube dice have the instructions on them. The version you make your own has only the dinosaur names on them.
Dinosaur Movements
T-Rex: We did high knees with loads of stomping around! We all kept our arms up like a t-rex.
Brachiosaurus: We put our arms overhead and moved them around like the long neck they have.
Paleontologist: We pretended to dig up dinosaur bones.
Plesiosaurus: We made a superman pose and moved our legs and arms out of the straight line to make an x. This was like using all the flippers to move through the water.
Pteranodon: We flapped our wings how we thought they would fly. This was fun to see their different movements.
Triceratops: We crawled around on the floor. They had fun making their own version of triceratops noises.
These are fun and you can add your own variation as well. After they have the movement add the speed changes. This is a riot and my girls love rolling the dice to see what they will get!

Thank you so much for your sharing, I’m going to use it for my yoga kids class – one of the child asked for a dinosaur themed class! I was wondering where could I buy that kind of dice. It’s wonderful to adapt to different kind of games and themes! Could you give me a hint on that?
Thanks once more!
Keep on with the good work!
I’m glad you like the movements they have been tons of fun for us!
I normally have a link to them in the post somewhere. But this is the link to Amazon where you can get the dice: http://amzn.to/2kaysvO
