The fish template has two types: the outline of the fish and the fish on the page. You can use both as templates for crafts and more.

You have one tracing template with a dotting line for the fish to trace. You can see it matches the template fish. This is great for building fine motor skills while tracing the outline and helps with fine motor skills.
Fish Dot Marker Printable
The fish dot marker printable has the same fish as above but with dots on the fish for kids to dot or cover in a fine motor center.

Ways to Use the Fish Template Printable
You are going to see a few ways to use the fish template. And these are just a few suggestions. But I will say this template works great for fish crafts.
Color the Fish Template
You can use the fish template as a coloring page for kids. They can use anything to color the fish. They can be as creative as they want to color the fish.
We used crayons to color our fish. And you can use all sorts of crayons to color the fish! We just one a few colors in ours
Make a Torn Paper Fish Craft
You can use either fish template and make a torn fish craft. It is super simple to do and fun for kids. And tearing the paper works great on fine motor skills for kids in prek and kindergarten. Construction paper works great for this craft.
Finger Paint the Fish
You can also use finger paints and finger paint the fish for younger kids. This is a great way to use it for tot and preschool-age kids.
If you don’t like fingerprinting, use a clothespin and a cotton ball to paint the fish.

Trace the Fins and Color the Fish
You can have fun tracing the fish and then coloring the fish with markers or crayons.
It is a great fine motor skill just to trace the outline of the fish as well.
Reuse the Fish Tracing Printable
You can also reuse the fish fine motor mat. You put the fish tracing printable in a sheet protector or laminate the printable.
Then you can use dry erase markers to trace the fish. You can use it over and over in a center.
If the dry erase marker sticks to the laminated page or the sheet protector, you can use white board cleaner to get the marker off.

We love using dot marker“>dot markers of all types. You can dot the fish and do a rainbow fish theme for it. This is fun to see the multicolored fish after kids get done. And each fish is unique to them.
Reuse the Dot Marker Fish
You can reuse the dot marker fish printable. One great way to do that is with glass gems. You can use one color or several colors to make a rainbow fish.
This makes a fun fish fine motor center for kids.
