Roaring Fun Medieval Dragon Themed Addition Cards
Medieval has to be one of our favorite themes in our house. It is a theme we have read a lot about and one my girls could do over and over.
We have been working more and more on addition, and I thought it would be fun to have something new to work on them. I know that it is fun to have pictures and changes in learning.
I also wanted a change for the normal addition flashcards we have been using. So something fun and new on the blog today with totally cute dragons! A favorite of mine!
This is day 6 of the 7 Days of Medieval & Fairy Tale Printables.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
This is a great addition to the addition printables on the site.
These addition cards are fun because you build the equation from what you see on the cards. It makes learning fun and something different from just flashcards. Plus they make a great math center.
We also read some fun dragon books with these cards. You can check out our favorite dragon books here.
Each hard card has the two different dragons at the top to add together. There are 3 squares for them to write in the equation.
Here is a look at how I set up the cards. I have the dry erase marker and clear glass gems my youngest can use.
The glass gems can be used different ways. You can match them to the dragons on the cards or make the equation on the card. It all depends on what you want to do. Below you can see how we use them above the cards.
It depends on the day but sometimes we don’t use the glass gems. But the cards are still fun for my youngest to do. She was doing the cards the second she saw them and my older two complained I had not made similar dragon math cards for them.
