Zoo Themed Area and Perimeter
I know that the zoo theme has always been a favorite during the summer for kids. I also know that older kids love to have themed work as well. So today I have something for those older kids that need work on area and perimeter!
It is a free zoo themed area and perimeter! And the kids get to build the cages for the animals at the zoo.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
I love that this is an easy no-prep activity that can be used over and over.
Each of the pages has 3 zoo animals with an area for drawing the cages and a 1 to 12 spinner. Plus there is a recording area below to record what the area and perimeter are.
How we use these printables
We use a spinner to spin twice and then fill in the numbers below the square to make our drawing. We use a clear spinners for this but you can use a paper clip and pencil.
Then draw our cages using the numbers we spun. We outlined our perimeter in markers and colored the area with crayons. Each of the squares allows having a 12 by 12 area.
If you want to use these pages over and over put them in sheet protectors. That way you can draw with dry erase markers. We outlined the perimeter and then used dashes to fill in the area.
One nice part about these printables is that we can be used over and over because there are no set numbers for kids to use.
