Yarn Truffula Trees – The Lorax
We are having fun with Dr. Seuss week at our house. Yes, I know most people posted before now about it. But we are doing it this week, so expect a few fun posts.
We read The Lorax (Classic Seuss). This is not the first time we have read the book. Nor will it be the last time I have read this book to the girls.
Last year we made Torn Paper Truffula Trees. This year we did something slightly different, but the same idea with yarn! This was a group craft project for them.
What you Need for the Yarn Truffula Trees
How to make the Yarn Truffula Trees
The girls took the craft sticks and drew with a brown marker lines on the sticks. Each of the girls had 3 sticks. It went at their own pace knowing it was a group project. So rushing did not mean we got done faster.
Then they put glue on the green construction paper and glued it to the blue paper.
The girls then glued on their craft sticks. Each of them arranges their sticks where they wanted to put them.
Then came the fun of putting all the yarn on the trees. Each made circles with the glue at the top of the trees. After they did they put on the yarn color of their choice. Each making sure to use the three colors we had.
