Watercolor Process Art Green Tree
Abhor day is always in the spring. It is a great time to learn about trees. There are so many trees in the world and they are all different shapes and sizes.
The last few months we have been having a blast just doing fun watercolor paintings. They are always fun to make and it is great to see how different we each make them.
Today we have a watercolor green tree that is loads of fun and easy to do.
I love that a green tree can be Earth Day or Arbor Day. You can do so much with it and trees are fun to learn about.
What you need for this activity
How we did this watercolor painting
First, we always start off by drawing our trees in pencil. This gives us an idea of how we want to make our tree. Plus you can always erase the pencil.
Then we outlined our tree in oil pastels. You want to make sure you outline the whole tree. This includes the area on the trunk at the bottom of the page.
You fill the area of the tree with water. You want to have it make a little bit of a bubble. We always keep one bowl of just water and the clean brush to put the water on the paper.
Then you put watercolor on your brush and dip it into the water. it is fun to watch the color spread around the paper.
If the paper starts to curl you can use items to keep it flat.
After we had the tree painted, we did normal painting for the sky and tree. It was fun to make the two types of painting activities.
