The Washi Tape Turkey Craft is a great addition to the thanksgiving activities on the site.
I love doing book and crafts together. We read the book There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey!. We love this series of books. It is fun to follow through the book as you read the story.
We made these fun turkeys to be the turkey that the old lady would swallows in the book.
What you need for the Washi Tape Turkey craft:
- paper plate
- construction paper
- washi tape
- glue & glue stick
- marker
The turkey body and parts were cut out ahead of time to make it easier for the craft.
How to Make Your Washi Tape Paper Plate Turkey
We picked out where the body of the turkey would go on the plate. We put a black dot there. It gave us a starting point for where the washi tape would go.
Then it was tons of fun coving the plate in washi tape! We all had our idea of what should and should not happen for your turkeys.
We used the center point to put one of the starting or ending points and then wrapped the tape around the back of the plate.
After the plate was covered in washi tape, we glued turkey body to the paper plate.
Then we made the dots on our eyes and glued the eyes the mouth and feet on our turkey.
Here is a look at our finished turkeys.
