How we made the Torn Scrapbook Paper Torch
You will see the steps below we used to make our torn scrapbook paper torch.
Step 1: Glue the Torch Handle On the Paper
You are going to put glue on one side of the torch handle. It does not matter how they put the glue on just that there is glue on the paper.
You turn the brown construction paper with the glue side over and place it on the paper. You want to place it near the bottom of the paper to allow room for the flame above.
But is someone places it somewhere different that is okay. Let kids decide where it might go.
Step 2: Tear up the Yellow, Red and Orange Paper
Next you are going to tear up pieces of paper. You can see we are using scrapbook paper for this craft. You are going to use two hands to tear the paper into smaller pieces.
You can see the thee colors below and the two different types of scrapbook paper we used. This was just left over scrapbook paper I had from project and it is fun to use it for crafts.
Step 3: Put Glue Above the Torch Handle
Next you want to put glue above the torch handle. You can glue as you go, but we like to glue before we start the paper.
You can make the shape of the flame of the torch with the glue. You can see the shape that we made.
Step 4: Place the Torn Paper on the Glue
Finally you are going to place the torn scrapbook paper on the glue. You can start at hte bottom and work up or randomly place the paper around on the glue.
Old kids might put colors in groups on the flame and younger kids might just place the colors where ever they want.
Let them decide how big or small the flame will be and how they are going to place the paper.
