How we made the Torn Paper Turkey Craft
You can see all the steps below we used to make the torn paper turkey.
Step 1: Tear up the Scrapbook Paper
You are going to take the scrapbook paper and tear it into pieces. The size of the pieces does not matter. You can use one of each color. Or kids can just use the color they like the best.
We used three different scrapbook paper for the red, yellow, and orange. We tore up all the paper we were going to use at the start of the craft.
Step 2: Put Glue on an Arch Around the Paper Plate
You can going to have kids put glue on the paper so they can place the torn paper. You can start in the center or out at the edge. You can let kids decide which they want to do.
We mostly started on the outside and worked out way inside with the glue. We followed the curve of the plate.
Step 3: Place the Torn Paper on the Glue
You are going to place the torn paper on the glue on the paper plate. You can want to make rows following the curve on the plate.
After you have one row you are going to do the next row of color. And if kids mix the colors all over that is okay as well. You can see that we overlapped just a little bit the colors on the next row.
This gives the feeling of layers of feathers.
Here you can see all the layers of torn paper on the paper plate.
Step 4: Put the Eyes on the Turkey
We took the white circle make with the 3/4 inch hold punch and drew eyes on the circles. The black part of the eyes can be any size kids want.
Then we glued the eyes on the turkey. we placed outs on the top part of the circle.
Step 5: Glue on the Beak
Finally you are going to glue on the beak for the turkey. You can glue the shape on any way you want. You can have it standing up or laying flat or folding.
Now you have a fun turkey you can make with kids.
