How we made the Torn Paper Truffula Tree Wreath Craft
You can see the steps below that we used to make the Torn Paper Truffula Tree wreath craft.
Dot Marker the Wreath
We used a green dot marker with two different types. You have a normal green and a shimmer green.
You want to paint the whole paper plate green.
After you have the paper plate is painted. You can set it aside while you make a the torn paper trees.
Draw Lines on the Craft Sticks
You want to pull out the small crafts sticks. You use the marker and then draw lines on the sticks. You want to do this for all the sticks you will use to make the trees for the wreath.
Kids can draw as many or as few lines as they want. And it is great fine motor to draw the lines as well.
Punch out 1 Inch Circles
Next you punch out 1 inch circles. You can do this in advance or have kids punch them out.
I like to have kids do this as much as is possible.
Glue Circles on the Craft Stick
After you have the circles punched out you are going to glue them onto the top of the tree. we used a liquid glue but I think a glue stuck would work a little better.
This gives you an easy base to build the top of the tree.
Tear up the Construction Paper
You want to tear up construction paper. Kids can do this and it is a fun for them and great for fine motor at the same time.
You can do one color at a time or tear the colors as you need them.
You can see the five piles of torn paper that we made. This allows for different colors of truffula trees.
Glue the Paper on the Circle
After you have your paper you use a glue stick to put glue on the paper. We this instead of liquid glue because the the paper does not move around as much.
You can see how the trees look after you have the paper glued on. And you can over lap the paper and make these cute tiny trees.
Glue the Trees on the Wreath
By they time you make the trees your paper plate should be close to dry.
You glue the trees around the wreath. You can pick which glue works best for you. And we did enjoy making this wreath a lot.
