Sun & Moon Activity
I had a very hard time just picking one of Marcus Pfister books. He has so many great ones to pick from. We finally settled on Sun And Moon. The sun is looking for a friend. You get to see lots of fun weather and things on the earth. It is great story about being friends and that it is okay to see each other every now and then and still be friends.
What you need for this activity: 2 paper plates, torn paper and marker.
She started by putting on a smile on the moon plate.
She glued on the yellow torn paper on the plate and then put a smile on the sun.
Then we acted out the moon going in front of the sun.
We matching up the sun and the moon in the book as we read the book the second time.
She looked at the words for sun and moon and did a few dry erase activities for the words. She wrote the words and then erased and counted the words.
Here is a look at the Sun and Moon we made.

I’m sad our library doesn’t carry this title. I’ll have to check Half Price Books.
I was lucky that ours did. Does your library do an inter library loan system?
What a fun way to learn! I love that craft – my kiddo is only 18 months old, but I think we would still have fun gluing the pieces of the sun onto the plate. Thanks for sharing!
