Space Water Bead Sensory Bin

Water beads have been so much fun for my girls to explore in. We always have lots of fun playing in them. This summer we did a Space theme water bead sensory bin. This was tons of fun. We had done a space sensory bin before. It has been a few years and I thought it would be fun to do some more space activities.

This sensory bin is loads of fun to explore the items in. Plus it was fun to see how much it looked like space.

The Space Water Bead Sensory Bin is a great addition to the space activities and sensory bins on the site.

I always try and pair up the sensory bins with a book. We read The Magic School Bus Lost In The Solar System with this sensory bin. You could also watch The Magic School Bus: Space Adventures as well.

This also works well with the Space Pack and the Jump In To Summer Learning: Space Week 1.

Ways to Use the Space Sensory Bin

We always take time to explore all the items in the sensory bin. This is a free and open time for them to explore what is in the bin. I love how creative they can be in their play. I can watch and see what they know and what we might talk about. It also helps that we read the book before the activity. They always surprise me with how much they learned while we were reading.

The second activity that we did was talk about the planets and their order. It was fun to see them scoop up the planets and look at them. We talked about which planets a spacecraft could land on: solid vs gas.
