Fun Learning with Sock Patterns
We have been working on patterns. This week we used socks. Rose and Amelia have been putting on a different socks each day and making patterns out of them.
This is also a great activity to do with the book Fox in Socks.
They put the socks on and then decide what the pattern will be. They repeat the pattern verbally.
So this pattern was yellow, dinosaur, dinosaur, yellow. When asked what would come next after the yellow they both said Dinosaur.
Then they matched the socks up and told me which foot had which sock on it.
They picked out socks the next day and did the same thing, but added Mary into the pattern. Here are some of the many patterns we had.
After we talked about the patterns they colored the patterns on paper. We used the shape coloring pages to do our patterns.

How fun! I love how they were cooperating with each other to make the patterns! How sweet.
They had a lot of fun doing this and kept going a few days after we stopped, just because. 🙂
That is such a cute idea. My son doesn’t have siblings, i wonder if i could get one of his socks to stretch over my feet!
