How we made the Shark Fine Wreath
You can see the steps below we used to make the shark fin wreath craft for kids.
Tracing the Shark Fin Cookie Cutter
You want to start off by getting the shark fins cut out. We traced the shark fin on cardstock. You can see how it looks below.
If you have older kids they can trace their own shark fins.
Cut out the Shark Fins
Then you cut ou tthe shark fins. To make this easier for group activities you can trace and cut out four pages at a time. This gives you several shark fins for the wreath.
You can get 5 to 6 fins on a sheet of paper. I used a binder clip to keep all the pages together while cutting.
You could also leave the shark fins on the pages and follow the directions below and cut them out after you are done painting them.
Dot Marker the Paper Plate
We start by using dot markers to paint the plate. It gives a fun color to the plate to mix some of the different colors. We used a blue and a teal and an aqua from a glitter set.
The dot marker on the paper plate also dries really fast. We put the paper plate aside to dry while we start the next part of the craft.
Watercolor Paint the Shark Fins
You then watercolor painting the shark fins. We used a paper under the fins to keep from painting on the table, but you can use a pay tray for this as well.
We used a gray in the watercolor pallet we had but you can also use gray paint for this as well. It will just take longer to dry.
Dot Marker the Bottom of the Shark Fin
After we did the watercolor painting of the shark fin we then used the dot marker on the bottom of the fin to add a ripple of water.
Adding the dot marker makes the shark fin look like it is moving through the water.
Glue the Shark Fins on the Wreath
Finally you are going to glue your shark fins on the wreath. You can see how we arrange 5 of the shark fins on the wreath to glue them.
This is a fun way to see the how the shark fins will look on the wreath.
