Reading Challenge Week 1
The first 5 days of the Reading Challenge have passed. How have you been doing? The girls and I have been enjoying doing a little extra reading. We read spring and baseball books this week. Plus started back into reading chapter books. The girls enjoy having books read to them. I also encourage them to have bring books to me to read as well. Here are some of the books we read this week.
Don’t forget to grab a reading chart from Royal Baloo and 3 Dinosaurs!
Here are the books we read this week:
Seasons by Anne Crausaz is a fun book about the different seasons. It has a fun way of talking about the sights and sounds of different seasons.
And Then It’s Spring (Booklist Editor’s Choice. Books for Youth (Awards)) is another book that I love. You watch a boy plant a garden and slowly watch it grow under the ground and then the world turns green.
Jo MacDonald Had a Garden (Jo MacDonald Series) is a fun book about planting a gardening and singing a song at the same time.

Snow Rabbit, Spring Rabbit: A Book of Changing Seasons is another changing of spring. It is fun to watch the changes and see what happens.
Are You Ready to Play Outside? (An Elephant and Piggie Book) is a great book about how it rains just when you don’t expect it. The girls are I really enjoy this book. We read it several times.
Split! Splat! is a great rhyming book about spring. It has a fun tale of rain and all things spring.
Mrs. Spitzer’s Garden is a fun story about planting flowers and growing them. It is fun to watch the smiling flowers and we read this one a lot this week.
Pete the Cat: Play Ball! (My First I Can Read) is a great early reader book. Plus Pete the Cat! You can’t go wrong there.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game is a fun story about baseball. We love it. We also listened to the CD several times with the book.
Curious George at the Baseball Game is a fun George story. I love all the Curious George books! They teach so much in a simple and fun way. I always love to follow George around.
We also started back to reading Chapters books this week.
Dinosaurs Before Dark (Magic Tree House, No. 1) is a fun book to read. We read 2 chapters a day until we had is finished. I made sure that each of the girls had a chance to try and read some part of the book. Yes even Mary! She could pick out a few words here and there.

Dear Cassie, I love your printable packs and often to use most of them for my tots. I read how you love all the curious george books, so do my tots 😉 so maybe you would take time to make printable pack about curious george? •⌣˚Ʈ♓ªnƘ ♧ ƔoƱ˚⌣•
I wish I could but that is one request I can’t do. Copyright laws make it so I can’t. Sorry.
Ooouhh really? even when we can’t use images from disneyclips, for example? Sorry for asking, because I don’t have any idea about using xopyrighted images for free printable packs. Anyway, thanks for your sharing, so blessed with all of your works 🙂
