Rainbow Heart Wreath Craft

Rainbows are great for spring, and hearts are great for all year for a shape theme and Valentines Day.

This is a super easy to make rainbow heart wreath, one you can make with kids at any time. It works great for tot, preschool, prek, and kindergarten age kids.

You have hearts in the colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. That kids can put around a paper plate.

A wreath is a collection of items around a circle. It can be used as a seasonal decoration around a house.

Rainbow Heart Wreath Craft

The rainbow heart wreath craft is made with rainbow color hearts that are placed around a paper plate.

You can do this wreath craft with kids that are tot (ages 2 to 3), preschool (ages 3 to 4), Prek (ages 4 to 5), and kindergarten (ages 5 to 6).

• glitter cardstock: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple

How we made the Rainbow Heart Wreath Craft

You can see the steps below that we used to make the rainbow heart wreath craft.

Punch out the Six Color of Hearts

You want to punch out the heart colors. We used the 1 1/2 heart punch. You can see how the size looks with the paper and the punch.

You can have kids punch out the hearts as they go or you can prepare the hearts in advance.

I find it best to let kids punch out the hearts. We use glitter cardstock for the hearts.

You can have them punch out the hearts before they glue.

Glue the Hearts on the Wreath

You then want to glue the hearts on the wreath. You can start with one color. We started with red and went in order of the colors of the rainbow.

Then we added more colors on the wreath. And kids can place the hearts anywhere they want.

They could make a rainbow on the wreath or just place them where ever. This heart wreath is up to them to decide how it looks.

This would be a great color activity and also a great St Patrick’s Day activity you could make.
