Fun Hands-On Pumpkin Shape Sorting

I know that I’m always looking for easy to use activities for my girls. Hands-on sorting mats are a great way to do that.

These mats have a great pumpkin theme and are wonderful to have for the fall.

The pumpkin shape sorting is a great addition to the pumpkin printables on the site.

The sorting mats work on four different shapes: circle, square, rectangle, and triangle. The mats have the shape words on them.

I recommend printing the pages on cardstock and laminating the pieces to make them last longer.

There are 6 pumpkins to sort to each mat. The pumpkins have the shape on them. It is a simple for them to look at and see the shape. You can also limit how many of each shape you give them. Or just use two shapes at a time.

I like to set the shape mats at the time and give them a stack of the pumpkin cards. They can go about sorting and having fun.

After you have finished up sorting. You can alway reuse the shape cards by making a huge shape matching game. It is easy and kids can mix up the cards and set it up themselves!
