Product Review: Celtic Therapy Plates

First this to say about the product review is that I bought this product it was not given to me and all thoughts and opinions are mine.

I ran into these plates when the girls and I were at King Richards Faire. The girls like the designs and the lady’s at the booth told them they could give the plates a try. They each picked a plate and tried them out. 15 minutes later they were still using them and wanted to know if we could get some for home. You can see below the picture of the girls using them for the first time.

I asked them about what they were most commonly used for to the ladies in the booth. They told me people use them as calm-down plates. The idea behind them is that you use these to calm down when you are upset. There are several different types and types. Open which is easy Medium which has a slightly more complicated design but is still easy to follow. The last type is Tight, where the Celtic knot design is very tight together. There are several types of levels to work with.

These are easy to use just about anywhere. They can lay on the floor or put them their lap. They are easy to use and very sturdy.

This is a great fine motor activity as well. It does not matter where they start or the direction they go. I have started to use these as a calm down.

If they manage to do well with the dominant hand have them switch hands. It takes more concentration for them to follow the lines. I like to have them switch up the plates and try a different plate even if it is an easier one.

Now when I got the plates I also got them for me! Yes me! What mother does not need something to calm them down when they are upset. It happens to the best of us. I use them more than the girls do. But I have lots of ideas to help them calm down. This is something quick and easy and I’ve used it lots. It gives me something to concentrate on instead of yelling or other things.

To end this review I love the plates. The girls use them and so do I. The creator’s web site has a lot of information about the plates and how they can be used. But sometimes it is just best to see what you can do with them. I can see some creative times ahead with them. I might even get another plate or two to go with the plates that we currently have.
