Ways to use the Ten Frame Nubmer cards
You can start kids off with counting numbers with the ten frames. You can use clear glass gems or clear counters and have them start counting at one and count until all the fish are covered. This is a great way to work on one to one correspondence.
You can also use unfix cubes and the blank the frame to do the same activity. You can start at one and count until you match the number on the card.
You can use many small items for this activity. You can use mini erasers. We find loads of them at Target. We had some fun polar bear ones. You can see how well they fit on the cards.
You can also use some fish counters for this as well! Any hands-on item can work!
If you don’t plan on reusing the ten frame cards you can print them on copy paper and then use dot marker on them as well!

Ways to work on Addition with Ten Frame Cards
I know that after you are done with counting you can still use the cards to work on addition! I wanted to show a few ways you can do that.
You can use two colors of clear counters. Then you cover the images on the cards with the two colors. You can see that I have the number ten card. It is covered in two colors of glass gems. I pick colors that they can see through the first time. You could also use clear counters.
Another way to use the cards is to use addition flashcards. I give them the flashcards that match the number. Then they can build the addition problem on the ten frame card.
