Winter has tons of great themes and one theme I get tons of requests for is more penguin activities! So today’s printable is all about that favorite winter theme.
It is a fun free Penguin themed ABC matching activity. It is a hands-on activity to work on letters and letter sounds for all the letters of the alphabet.

I love to have flexible activities that kids can do. And that is why this set is flexible.
The set has an iceberg with a picture and two penguin letters in uppercase and lowercase. This gives you options for matching the letter type you are working on. I recommend printing the cards on cardstock

Ways to use the Penguin ABC Matching
You are going to see a few ways to use the penguin ABC matching printables.
Setting Up the Penguin ABC Letter Matching
Here is a sample of how you could set up the cards. You don’t have to match all the letters of the alphabet. Just set up the letters of the alphabet you are working on.
Match Penguin Uppercase & Lowercase Letters to the Iceberg
You can do the basic matching activity. You match the uppercase and lowercase letters to the iceberg with the picture that has the matching beginning sound picture.
You can say the beginning sound of the picture and then find the matching letters.
Match Penguin Uppercase Letters Only to the Iceberg
You can also mix this up to do just the case you are working on. You can just match the uppercase letters. This is what the set is flexible you can match just what you are working on.
Match Penguin Lowercase Letters Only to the Iceberg
And then another day you could do just the lowercase letters. You could also do this if you are just working on lowercase letters and are not using the uppercase letters.

You can also just do an activity where you match uppercase and lowercase letters. I love to put cards of rings
Matching Penguin ABC Cards With Tracing Letters
You can also take those cards on a ring match the letters then trace the letters on the ABC Tracing Chart. It is an easy way to add writing to the activity.
