Hands-On Learning With Nativity Word Puzzles
Christmas has so many fun themes to work use. I love the nativity story and we retell it every year and just love it I always enjoy doing something with it.
This year we have enjoyed the themed word puzzle sets. These are an easy way to work in words with themes you know. Now I have added the nativity words. Puzzles are a great way to work on learning new words or working on spelling words that kids might have problems with.
There are some nativity words that kids can work on. The nativity set has the following: Jesus, Mary, Joseph, star, angel, stable, shepherd, and wise men.
This set includes a puzzles mat and a writing paper. That is so you can write your words and record them as well.
Here is a look at how I set up the activity. I put the building mat in a sheet protector but you can also laminate it to make them last longer. I give them a pencil and dry eraser marker.
Kids can build the words on the mat and write the word on the mat. The puzzles all fit into the rectangle on the page.
After they have built their words they can write it below on the mat. We use the dry eraser marker on the mats. The nativity set has some great work on having the first letter be capitalized.
They can also record their words on the writing sheet. It is fun to have a record of the words that they make. They might also want to use the nativity writing paper and write sentences about the words they have built.
You could also use the following books with this set.
