Fine Motor Craft: Model Magic Apples
We love switching up the crafts that we do. Any all my girls love model magic. They ask a lot to do crafts with it. I love giving them a change with doing them.
Today we have a fun Model Magic apples that are great for working on fine motor skills.
One of our all time favorite apple books is Apples by Gail Gibbons. She always has the best books with information about apples.
I love that there are so many different types of apples and colors. We all picked red for our apples. But you can just as easily make a green or yellow apple as well.
What you need for this craft:
- red model magic
- 3 inch foam ball
- green pipe cleaner
- green paper we used leftover scrapbooking paper
- pencil
- scissors
How we made our craft:
We started out by punching a hole in the foam ball top and bottom. We used a pencil for this. One you had the pencil in the ball we rolled it around to create a cone-shaped hole.
Once the hole was big enough we used our fingers to push it out a little more.
The next step was to put the model magic on the apple. One part I love about this is how you great in some great fine motor work pushing the model magic onto the ball. You push and switch it on the ball.
After we had all the model magic on we rolled the ball on the table to even out some of the model magic on it.
Put five balls on the bottom of the apple to give it a different shape.
We put on the stem and leaf for our apples. We cut the pipe cleaner and pushed it into the top of the apples and pressing the leaf into the model magic.
Here is a look at our final craft:
