June 2015 Book Finds

Each month we look for books. Some we get at the book store or trips we take. We also get lots of books from the library. I love using the library for new books or new authors. We are always looking for fun new books to read.

Don’t forget that summer is a great time to explore and use the library as well.

June 2015 Book Finds: crayons, dinosaurs & moms, animals, coloring, night time & stars - 3Dinosaurs.com

Red: A Crayon’s Story is one of the best stories I have read in a long time. The crayon has the wrong cover on it. It is a blue crayon but the cover says red. And the little crayon can’t draw any red things right. Then one day someone asks the crayon to draw something blue. I love the concept of the book and my girls did too.

Dinosaur vs. Mommy (A Dinosaur vs. Book) is a great book for all the mothers out there! We always love to read these books. This book appealed a lot to me because of the way it shows all the things moms do. Plus it is just fun to read. I can see my girls doing some of the things in the book.

In a Village by the Sea is a beautiful book to read! We loved ever page of it. You can build on words and parts of the pictures. It is wonderfully told and we will be checking this one out again.

Doodleday is a fun book about a day when doodles come alive! Guess what the boy drew and just what all happened. We had fun with this book and made sure we made our own doodles afterwards!

Touch the Brightest Star is another interactive book! We really love these at our house. We read them often. Even my older girls like to read and interact with them. This one has stars in the sky, the moon, animals and constellations. At the end of the book is information you can read about each one.

Daylight Starlight Wildlife is wonderful comparison of the animals at day vs night. I love how it shows each of the animals in their time of day. Each side by side page has a day animal and a night animal. It was so fun to read this book. There is also more information about each animal at the back of the book.

What book above do you think you would like to read?
