June 2012 Book Finds

This months books were a collection from some we found on blogs, the store and the library. We are always looking for fun new books. Plus this month we did some activities with some of those books.

Ten Little Beasties by Ed Emberley and Rebecca Emberley is a great book for counting to ten. It was fun and imaginative. You can see a copy of the activity we did with it here. It was originally posted at Mess for Less.

Birdsongs by Betsy Franco and Steve Jenkins is a fun way to look at the songs that birds make with some counting. The girls loved to make the bird songs as we read the book. I will be making a bird pack that will go with this book.

In the Sea by David Elliott and Holly Meade is a great book with ocean poems in it. It will go great with my Ocean Pack. We did a turtle craft after read this book.

The Princess Knight by Cornelia Funke and Kerstin Meyer was a fun book. We read this book on the recommendation of No Time for Flash Cards. We loved it. It was about a princess that decides she wants to pick her own fate. It was fun to see a story with a strong female character.
