July 2016 Book Finds

Finding new books to read is always something fun for us! It has become a challenge to see what new books my girls can find that they really like. We have a favorite author this month and some new one as well. This month was a mix of a bookstore, art museum, and library for where we found out books.

And yes even my tween still reads picture books. Any book is a good book when you are reading.

July 2016 Book Finds: pete the cat, math, dragons & knights, poems, animals, dreams and the airport - 3Dinosaurs.com

There are links to Amazon for all the books. A lot of the books have previews of the books as well.

The Airport Book is a new favorite book about the airport for us! We loved reading this book. You have the whole trip through the airport and it includes grumpy people and kids. It shows that not every visit goes great. Plus you see all the phases of travel in and to the airport.

Before I Wake Up… is a fun story about a child and their stuff animals adventures through her dreams. The picture are wonderful and there are some pages that don’t have any text at all!

There Is a Tribe of Kids is a great book for learning about all the different kids of animal families and what they are called. Our favorite was the Jellyfish!

Guess Who, Haiku is a great poetry book. Plus if you love animals it is a fun guessing game while you read. It is always fun to change up what you read. My oldest had fun counting the words to make sure it really was a haiku.

The Forgetful Knight is a book that we laughed a lot about! It is almost Monty Python funny and my girls all loved the book. We read it several times. The narrator just can’t remember just how the story goes. This is one to read over and over.

What This Story Needs Is a Munch and a Crunch (A Pig in a Wig Book) is another in the Pig in a Wig Series! We totally love reading these books and looking for all the rhyming words.

Pete the Cat: Sir Pete the Brave (My First I Can Read) is a great new early reader book. We have so much fun with the Pete the Cat books.

Pete the Cat: Go, Pete, Go! is a twist on the tall of the Rabbit and turtle race. It is all about enjoying the race and having fun.
