Jingle Bells Ten Frame Cards

Numbers and counting are something I get asked a lot for every season. There are always fun themes to do.

One fun theme I’m doing a little bit this year is Jingle Bells!

Jingle bells are so much fun to play with plus a great sensory activity at the same time.

Today I have a fun free ten frame activity with jingle bells!

We have always loved singing jingle bells. it is a blast to do. And we love the book Jingle Bells by Susan Jeffers. But I wanted to change things up so we have a fun ten frame activity with bells!

This is a great sensory activity for kids to do. You can count and make loads of fun music!

Each of the ten cards has two options. You have the card fill out to match the number and you have the card blank so they can fill out the number. I recommend printing on cardstock and laminating if you plan to use the cards a lot.

These are just a few of the items we used with these ten frame cards. You can always use what you have on hands-on change it up to make it fun.

How to use the Jingle Bells Ten Frame Cards

I love to show every now and then how I set up the activity. You can see that I put the cards in a stack and give several jingle bells. You can give exactually 10 bells or more than ten. I have a mix of bells and to match some of the numbers.

After you have your activity set up you have them do their counting. You can see where we matched the color and number of the jingle bells. This gets color matching and counting at the same time. We had fun ringing all the bells.

Another way to do this is to use clear glass gems and cover the pictures of the bells. This allows you to see the bells and count at the same time.

Now if you love the idea of the cards but do want to use jingle bells you don’t have to! You can always use any hands-on item. I always keep unifix cubes around for these cards. They work great.
