January 2014 Book Find
We have reached the end of the month! I can’t believe it went by so fast. We have started some reading around dinner time and having fun with it. Here are some of the books that we loved reading! Do you have fun books you read this month?
The Museum is a great book for looking at art a fun way! My girls wanted to get up and do the movements as soon as I read them. It was fun to see the rhymes and feelings that were expressed in the book. The colors are fun as well. The girls recognized a few of the paintings. That was fun as well. This is a great book to read before you go to an art museum. Amazon has a preview of the book.
Swirl by Swirl: Spirals in Nature it a great book to look at shapes in nature. This shows different patterns of animals and things you find with a spiral in nature. At the end of the book you can see what a spiral is with definition and what makes the things in the book a spiral. I love that. This will be a book we read again. Amazon has a preview of the book.
Never Play Music Right Next to the Zoo is a book I fell in love with the cover! It just stood out to me. I loved it! I opened the book and read the first page and I was sold on it! I just had to have it for the girls. This is full of imagination and excitement as you watch what happens unfold.
My Neighbor Totoro Picture Book (New Edition) is a favorite movie of mine. I love that now there is a book you can read for it. I expect that we will be reading this book over a few days and enjoying it. If you say Toy Story 3, Totoro is one of the toys in the little girls house. I also love learning about a different culture as well.
The Nowhere Box is a book about a box and playing in it. I love that he was “nowhere”. I think we are love to be creative and every now and then we all need our nowhere box! You will love the creative way that he uses the box and would make a good book for playing with boxes afterwards! Where would you make your box go?
What are you favorite books from this month? Did you find any new and fun books?

These look like really cute books. I’ve never read any of them. Some of them are too old for my daughter to try out right now, but we’ll definitely look for the “Nowhere Box!” A new book we’re enjoying right now is “Miki and the Wishing Star.” It’s one of those books that drew me in because of the cover.
I love when a cover sucks you in and the book is just as good. The Nowhere box we have read several times now!
