What you need to make your Heart Cookie Cutter Painting

• paper
• cookie cutters – We use the hearts for this set.
• washable paints We used the color red, pink and purple.
• paper plate

Cookie cutter painting can be messy so make sure kids have something covering their shirts.

How we made the Heart Cookie Cutter Painting

You are going to see all the steps we used when making this heart cookie cutter painting.

Dip the Cookie Cutter in Paint

You start by dipping the cookie cutter in paint. You want to make sure the paint area is flat to help make it easier for the cookie cutter. We used paper plates to hold the paint.

Stamp Cookie Cutter on the Paper

Then you stamp the cookie cutter on the paper. You can do press down or slide it around. Let them be creative about their painting.

Look at Heart on the Paper

After you lift off the cookie cutter you can see the heart shape on the paper. Super simple and easy.

Stamp More Hearts on the Paper

Then move on and all more hearts to the paper. Remember this is their art project and they can do it any way they want. All you are doing is giving them cookie cutters and paints.

One thing to keep in mind about this art project is that it is a process art painting. They can put as many hearts on as they want. They want to mix colors go for it!
