Color words are important sight words to learn. You learn the color names in preschool and then use the words they know how to speak and put them into words they see.
This set really does focus on the color words and helping kids learn them.
You will find the following colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, gray, white, and black.
The book has simple sentences on each page. It has the sight words: the & is.
The clip cards have a heart in the middle and the color words below for kids to clip.
I recommend printing these on cardstock and laminating them. This allows you to use them several times.

How to Make the Easy Reader Book
I always have questions about how to put the books together. It is super simple and easy to do.
First, you print off the pages. I line up the pages and carefully cut the pages down the middle. This allows you the have all pages in the book. You can see how I cut the pages below.
Then I alternate the pages. The odd pages are on the top and the even pages are on the bottom.
Once the pages have been put together I staple the book along the side. I use three of four staples to make sure the book stays together.
Ways to Use the Heart Color Easy Reader Book & Clip Cards Printable
You can do this two ways. You can do the book first or the cards first. I like to do the easy reader book first.
First, time through you can have them read and color the book. If they are having problems with color words then grab the PreK and Kindergarten help desk.
After they finish the book have them do the clip cards and see if they can match the color and the color word. You can see below how I set up the clip cards and clothespins.
Then they can clip the cards with the correct word that matches the color.
You can also have them do the book and the clip cards at the same time. They color the heart in the book. You can have them underline the color word. Then find the matching clip card for that page.
I love that these two printables work great together and help kids learn their colors.
