How to make the Halloween Easy Reader Book
First, you line up the papers so that they are all straight. Then you cut down the middle on the paper.
Second, you alternate the pages. You can see the odd pages are on top and the even pages are on the bottom.
Finally, you staple the book along the edges. You can put in three or four staples. I like to do as many as I think will help the book hold up.
Ways to use the Halloween Easy Reader Book & Pocket Chart Cards
Sound it out or Blend Cards
The set has some sound cards for the short vowel words. They have dots below each of the letters to help with sounding out the words.
You can see below we used clear glass gems to cover the dots. You place a glass gem as you say each of the letters.
You can also use clothespins for this. It helps build their fine motor skills at the same time.
Reading the Book Halloween Book
The first time through you might want to add the sound it out cards. So you have the book and the cards they can go through. Or you could just read the book. The fun part is that you can change this up for the needs of the child.
Pocket Chart Cards
In the set, you have a bunch of pocket chart cards. These cards work great for working on sentence order. Each sentence has the same picture at the top. Easy for them to see which cards belong to which sentence.
You could then read through the book and make the matching sentences from the pocket chart cards.
