Fun Fine Motor Craft: Washi Tape Pumpkins
We have loved all the different washi tape crafts. The season change and as they do my girls ask if I have a new washi tape craft for them to do.
We have done several over the last year and have been slowly using up my supply of washi tape. It has been fun to build the fine motor skills while working on a craft project.
Today I have another simple washi tape craft for pumpkins.
We have been reading several pumpkins books over the last little while. We found two books that my older two girls read to all of us How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin? and The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin. These are some of our favorites or just ones we dug up while unpacking.
We have a lot of fun doing a craft after reading. And a lot of the time I ask my girls what they think would be a good craft to do. They wanted to do a fun washi tape craft.
These pumpkins are really fun and easy to make. You can make them as simple or complicated as you want.
What you need for this craft:
- pencil
- white paper
- orange washi tape
- green washi tape
- blue construction paper
- green constructions paper – small strip
- scissors
- glue
How to Make your Washi Tape Pumpkins
First, we drew our pumpkins on the white paper. You can pick any shape or size you wanted to make your pumpkin.
Then we had tons of fun putting the tape on our pumpkins. Everyone had their own ideas of how their pumpkins should look and the direction the tape should go.
We then cut out our pumpkins This was a good practice in cutting on the lines. As my girls have got older they have been using bigger scissors. This makes it a bit of a challenge at times.
Then, we glued the pumpkins on a blue paper. We placed the pumpkins close to the bottom of the blue paper but on directly on the bottom.
We then cut our grass and then glued it on the bottom of the paper.
