What is a Spin & Cover Printable
A spin and cover printable is where you have a spinner on the page and you spin and use the numbers for math or matching numbers.
Swimming Spin & Cover Printable
There are three types of swimming spin and cover pages in the set. You have a counting that works from 1 to 6. You have an addition that adds from 2 to 12. You have multiplication that works on numbers from 1 to 6.
Each of the pages has a spinner with the numbers 1 to 6. Plus, there are directions on how to use each page. They come in color and black and white.

The swimming spinning addition has numbers from 1 to 6 on the spinner with all the numbers you can add up to for numbers 1 to 6 on the swimming pool. The numbers are from 2 to 12. You can see the color and the black and white version below.

Ways to Use the Swimming Spin & Cover Printable
You will see a few ways to use the swimming spin and cover with numbers, addition and mutliplication.
Setting up the Spinner
You have two different options for the spinner. You can use a paper clip and pencil or a clear spinner. You can see how to use these below.
Using the Clean Spinner on the Numbers Wheel
The clear spinner is placed on the center of the spinner. It can be moved to cover or dot numbers on the page. It is easy to use and the spinner is easy to spin. This would be easier for kids in kindergarten and first grade to use.
Using A Pencil and Paperclip on the Numbers Wheel
The pencil and paperclip spinner is made by placing the paperclip on the number wheel. You put a pencil in the center of the spinner. You flick the paper clip and it spins around to make the spinner.
You can see how it would look below. This is easier for kids in second grade and third grade to do. But younger can do it as well.
Setting up the Spin & Cover Center
Below you can see the spinner on the number wheel, the color version of the spin and cover printable and light blue clear glass gems. You can use other items than the glass gems. I just happened to like them for fine motor work.
Doing the Number Spin & Cover
When you use the number spin and cover, kids are just spinning and cover the same number on the page. It is a matching activity for them.
Doing the Addition Spin & Cover
For the addition spin and cover kids are to spin the spinner twice. Then add the number. So if they spin 5 and 6. They add that up to 11 and then cover 11 on the pool.
You can see we have cover the number 11 below. You keep doing this until all the numbers are covered.
You can also change it up and if they come up with the same number again take the cover off the number and just keep going. You can give them a time limit while they are working on the addition in a center.
Doing the Multiplication Spin & Cover
You can see the multiplication spinning worksheet below. You have the pencil and paperclip spinner. Kids are to spin the spinner twice. Then they multiply the number and then dot the answer on the swimming pool with a dot marker. A simple way to work on multiplication.
You keep spinning until all the numbers are dotted or colored.
