Ways to Use the Swimming Prewriting Strip Printable

You will see how we prepare and use the swimming prewriting strips.

Preparing the Prewriting Strips

You can laminate the prewriting strips sand cut them out. You can see below that we like to laminate and then cut the prewriting strips out. We do this a lot.

But if you wanted you could laminate and leave the prewriting strips together.

It is nice to have one prewriting strip at a time to help kids to focus.

Store the Swimming Prewriting Strips on a Ring

You can store the prewriting stirps on a ring. This makes them easy to use and easy to keep them together. Plus you can always just put a few of the strip on them or all of them.

Setting up a Fine Motor Center with The Prewriting Strips

You can see below a very simple prewriting set up. You have a set of the swimming prewriting strips on a ring. This maybe be just a few lines.

Then you can give them a dry erase marker to trace the lines. You can use a fine tip marker or you can use a bigger dry erase markers.

You can see below how simple it is to trace the prewriting strips. You can trace the lines and wipe them off and trace again.

You can do just one line or all the lines. Do the lines that work best for you kids.

Use Playdough on the Prewriting Lines

Now you can do more than just trace the dashed lines. You can make it a playdough line. Just add playdough and have them make playoudgh snakes to match the line.

You can do this over an dover. You work on making playdough mats and making them matching the line. A fun way to change up using the prewriting lines. this is great for kids who can’t do prewriting but need some fine motor work.

Hands-on Items with the Prewriting Strips

You can also use small items to place on the prewriting stirps. And we used these turquoise acrylic rocks on the line. It is a great way to work on fine motor to pick up and place the items on the lines.

Another Option than Laminating

Now if you love the prewriting strips but don’t want to laminate them. You can put them in a sheet protector and they can trace the lines that way.

It is simple to set up and do. We do this a lot with prewriting printables.
