Preparing the Sight Word Cards

Print the Sight Word Cards on Colored Cardstock for the Different Seasons

You can print the sight word cards on white cardstock or on color cardstock. I know that it is fun to print the flashcards in different colors for the different seasons.

Laminate the Sight Word Cards

After you have the sight word cards printed. You want to laminate the sight word cards. This is a great way to help the sight word flashcards last longer. And make them more sturdy to use in learning centers.

You can print and then laminate or print, cut out and then laminate. You can do which works best for your laminator.

Storing the Sight Word Cards on a Ring

After you have the sight word printed and laminator you can use a hole punch and put the sight word cards on a ring. You can use any of the cards that you need on the ring. It keeps the cards together and works great for storing the sight words you want together.

Use with Lacing Letters with the Sight Word Cards

You can see two ways to use the lacing letters with the sight word cards.

Lacing Letter Center

You can make a sight word center with the cards by adding a pipe cleaner and the lacing letters.

They lace the letters on the pipe cleaner to make the word. A great hands on spelling activity for the sight words.

Build Sight Words with Lacing Letter

You can use the lacing letters to build the sight word below the card or near the sight word cards. This is another great way to use the sight word cards in a center.

Writing the Sight Words

You can also use the sight word cards for writing. You can give them a blank writing paper. Yes that is a link to free writing paper on my site.

Then they write each sight word on the paper. They can write on sight word on each row. Or write it many time on the paper. It is great to add in handwriting with the sight words.
