Free Shape Lacing Printable
We have been working on shapes again. We love having different ways to work on shapes.
The free shape lacing printables are to help out with that learning, plus get a little fine motor in as well.
The shape lacing printable is an easy shape activity for Tot, preschool, and kindergarten.
The Shape Lacing Printable is a great addition to the shape printables on the site.
What is a lacing card?
Lacing cards are an activity for younger kids in preschool and kindergarten that passes a string through holes around a cutout shape.
Shape Lacing Printables
These shape lacing printables are shapes that have holes to use to make a lacing shape printable for kids to do.
On each page, you are going to find 2 to 3 lacing card shapes. Each of the shapes has its name on it and the holes for you to punch. These are meant to be easy to use without too many complications.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
Ways to use the Shape Lacing Printables
Lace the Shapes
We laminate our lacing cards to help them last longer. We are using relace to lace the cards. I use a small wood bead or pony bead at the end of the rexlace so it does not just go right through.
You can also switch this up and use a ribbon as well. I put tape at the end of the ribbons to make it fun.
Clip the Holes on the Shape Lacing Cards
Another fun activity that we do with these cards is, use clothespins and cover all the holes. This is great for building fine motor skills a different way.
What you will find in the Free Shape Lacing Printable:

- The following shapes to lace: circle, square, rectangle, oval, diamond, crescent, star, triangle, heart, hexagon, parallelogram, and octagon

You always take such care with your printables that you share. These are great shapes lace-up cards — but my math teacher husband would gently ask you to change “diamond” to rhombus . I, however, think diamond is great! 🙂
Yes but all these lovely shape books we keep reading are all diamond. 🙂
My son needs to work on his fine motor skills. This will be a fun activity for him and something that we can easily set-up. I love how you used the clothes pins too to change the activity. Thank you for sharing at the #Made4Kids Link Party!
