Free Halloween Themed Reading Charts
Almost every month we do reading charts. Yes, even my oldest uses 100 reading charts. We always use them different ways. I’m always changing how we use the charts.
These Halloween Themed Reading Charts are great for the month of October. Kids love to have different themes to use. My girls are always asking for different ones.
I’m always encouraging my girls to read. Yes, they have reading they are doing for school, but that reading is not always fun for them. I want them to read beyond what the school has them reading. These charts help keep track of reading for school and fun reading.
Each of the reading charts has 1 to 100 and 101 to 200 for each Halloween theme. These are made big so you can use stickers or Halloween stamps.
For my youngest, we fill in every book we read together. For my middle daughter, she has just started reading chapter books. We mark a spot for every chapter she reads in her book. For my oldest, she is reading longer books now. We track every spot as 10 minutes of reading.
I let them turn in reading for rewards. They can get a new book, extra screen time or several other choices that I have for them. It is fun to watch them read to earn and just enjoy reading. This also helps my oldest read beyond the reading she has to do for her school reading.
What do you do to make reading fun?
