Preparing the Gumball Addition Game
The game has several pieces that work best if printed on cardstock and laminated. The game board, the gumball and the candy jar sorting mats are all great on the heavier paper and laminating helps it last for a lot more uses.
You can print the pages, laminate and cut out the game pieces and candy jars. This is what I do. Or you can print, cut out, and them laminate. Do which works best for the laminator that you have.
The recording sheet is best printed on copy paper since everyone can record their own game.

Another way to set up the game would be to add the sorting candy jars to the game. That way after you do the math you sort the gumball equations to the candy jars. But very similar to above.
How to Play the Gumball Addition Game
Once you have the gumball addition game set up in the center you can start using it with kids working on addition.
You have them turn over a gumball and solve the addition equation.
Then they move their game piece to that number.
We turned over the gumball with the addition 6 + 1 and that is seven. We moved our mini erase to the number 7.
Then you pull the next addition gumball card and more around the board until you reach the end of the game.
If kids run out of cards while paying they can mix them up and keep going.
