Puzzles happen to be one of our favorite ways to learn. And the free butterfly multiplication matching puzzles are a great hands-on learning tool for multiplication.
These are fun to make multiplication games and let kids have a load of fun learning their multiplication math facts.

What is Multiplication?
Multiplication is one of the basic math operations that kids learn.
Multiplication is the addition of equal groups together. So you would be adding groups of 2 together.
You multiply these numbers together to get an answer.
An example is 2 x 3 = 2 + 2 + 2 = 6

The butterfly matching multiplication cards work on multiplication 1 to 12 by matching the top of the butterfly multiplication equation with the bottom of the butterfly with the answer.

Ways to Use the Butterfly Multiplication Matching Puzzles Printable
I’m going to show you a few easy ways to use the multiplication matching printables.
Matching Multiplication Puzzles from Two Piles
You can see a simple setup of the multiplication matching activity. You can have two piles of the top and the bottom. There are three colors to help make this a little easier but still work on multiplication facts.
If they have problems with the math facts then use the multiplication bookmarks as a guide for matching the multiplication puzzles.

You can also set the butterfly multiplication puzzles up as a matching game. You can the top on one side and the bottom on the other.
If you have a pocket chart you can put the puzzles in that and pull the two pieces and match them.
Matching Multiplication Puzzles on Rings for Center
You can also make a fun multiplication center out of the multiplication matching puzzles. You can put the top multiplication answers on a ring and the bottom equation on a ring and have kids match the top and the bottom.
Then they flip through the cards to find the right match.
This is also a great way to sort the puzzles!
