Easy To Make Finger Painted Planet Earth
Earth Day is coming soon, and we wanted to do something fun for it. My girls have loved different earth day crafts. The earth we live on is such an amazing place.
I’m always looking for fun new projects for us to do for Earth Day. Today we have a twist on the torn paper planets we did a few years ago. It is a fun finger painted planet earth!
This was a craft project my girls wanted to do.
This is a fun addition to the Earth Day activities on the site.
We have done several craft and painting projects similar to this. We have done planets and moons.
These are so much fun to make and great to see how we all make things differently and still have fun.
What you need for this activity:
- paper with circle traced on it.
- black glitter cardstock
- blue, green and white paint
- paint tray – (we used ice cube tray)
- scissors
- glue
- q-tips
Each of us looked at a map of the earth and drew on the contents for us to paint. We use the Children’s Atlas of the World for this.
Then we filled in the paint into the ice cube trays. This made it easy to keep the colors together.
We all finger painted out worlds. I love projects like this because everyone has their own ideas and that is okay.
We set our planets aside to dry and got the black glitter cardstock to paint starts on it. We used q-tips and white paint and dotted around the paper.
Once our earth and stars were dry we cut out the earth and glued it onto the black cardstock.
Here is a look at our final project.
