How we made the Paper Roll Painted American Flag
You are going to see the steps we used to make the Paper Roll Painted American Flag.
Drawing the Lines for the American Flag
We use paper rolls to help us draw the lines on our paper. We used four across the top and did three rows for the blue with the stars and then keep drawing the rest of the lines.
If you need to make two copies put them on a window to copy onto additional papers. The lines go really fast after you have the first one done.
Painting Blue and Stars on the American Flag
We started by alternating the blue and the white to make the stars on the flag. You can stamp as much or little as you want in the area.
You can make this simple for younger kids or have them stamp as much as they want for older kids.
Start with the Red Stripe on the American Flag
You start off by stamping the red stripe on the flag. Now you won’t fit all 13 strips but you can do a few strips on the flag.
You can see how the red stands out on the paper.
Alternate Red and White Strips
Next, you do a white strip. Then you follow it up with another red stripe. And then you alternate the two colors until the flag is done.
Now don’t get upset if they have issues with the colors on the flag.
Tips for Making the American Flag
You can do this with different ages. Just remember that you need to give clear instructions for different ages.
If you have younger kids put can put a small colored dot for where they should do the red stamp and a blue stamp.
It might also help to have a picture of the flag around for them to look at.
And let making this American Flag painting this be something fun not stressful.
