Hands-On Learning With Easter Themed Number Word Puzzles

I love using puzzles to learn with! Today I have something new with numbers and puzzles! I know that my girls love puzzles and I’m always looking for ways to put puzzles into our learning.

We have Easter themed number word puzzles! Puzzles are a great way to make spelling activities hands-on! These are so flexible that there are loads of ways you can use them.

These are a great addition to the Easter Printables on the site.

The Easter number word puzzles have numbers from 0 to 10. They also have a cute chick to help us with the counting of the numbers. Each number has a chick with Easter eggs matching up to the puzzle. It is one simple way to count, making a puzzle and spell.

Here is a look at how I set the puzzles and mat. I put the puzzle mat in a sheet protector since I am out of laminating pouches. It is an easy way to save money and switch up the mats. It also can make sorting the puzzle all together easier.

Each puzzle has the number word on it that matching the chick with the eggs. You can build the puzzle on the mat. Each word fits nicely on the mat.

After you have built your puzzle you can then write the word in the area below it. I use a dry erase marker to do our writing.

After you have built your puzzle you can then write it on the writing page. How the kids do this is up to you. We matched up the number word on the number list.

If you don’t want to use the mat you can always print the puzzles twice and use one puzzle as an example of how to spell and match. This works great for younger kids.

Now if you want to use the mat but your child is not writing well. Or it is a skill that frustrates them you can always use tiles or lacing letters for the writing part. And it makes the activity all hands-on.
