Earl the Squirrel – Yarn Acorn
We read Earl the Squirrel by Don Freeman. The girls loved the story and the simple black white and red colors. It was a delightful story. We made yarn acorns.
What you need: acorn cutout, glue and yarn light and dark brown.
We compared the top and bottom of the acorn and the light and dark yarn.
They girls covered the top of the acorn in glue.
They put the dark colored brown yarn on top. Part of the way through Mary decided she did not want to do this today.
They put glue on the bottom of the acorn.
They covered the bottom of the acorn in light brown yarn.
The finished product. With lots of help Mary did finish hers.
