Free Dinosaur Counting Mats Printable: Number 1 to 10
If you had not guessed, dinosaurs are a HUGE thing in our house. We have more dinosaurs than we do other things. I’m always looking for ways to include their favorite things in our learning. Since we have been loving counting mats, I thought I would add a few more!
The fun part about these mats is that you can use so many different items with them! Plus, this is a part of the 31 days of Printables! It is the first of the Dinosaur printables.

What is a Counting Mat?
Counting mats are hands-on activities for practicing counting. They work on the skill of one-to-one correspondence. And helps with number recognition.
Dinosaur Counting Mat Printables
It is fun having counting mats that kids can use. They love changing up their activities and the way we use them. We are using some fun dinosaur counters
Each of the dinosaur counting mats has a counting area, ten frame box, the number word, and number digit that you can use for playdough if you want.
The dinosaur counting mats are great for kids in prek (ages 4 to 5) and kindergarten (ages 5 to 6).

Setting up the Dinosaur Counting Mats
We have fun cycling through the different mats. Here is a look at how I set the mats up to be used. We are using dinosaur counters, green glass gems< and playdough. I put them in sheet protectors in a binder and we pull out the number we are working on.

Filling out the Dinosaur Counting Mat
You can see below how we filled out the dinosaur mat. You can see the dinosaurs on the counting area, the ten frame filled out with the glass gems and we used playdough for the number.
This can be done for each of the playdough mats.
Filling out the Ten Frame and Counting Only
If you don’t want to do the playoudgh mat you don’t have to. You can see how we just use the dinosaurs and the glass gems. Just remember you can use as much or as letter of the counting mats that you want.
