CVC words are words that have Consonant Vowel Consonant words. These words are short vowel sound. You will find words like bat, mug, and pig in this set.
This CVC Flower Pot Matching is a great way to sound out words and find the matching letter sound for each picture on the flower pot.
There are 18 flower pots in the set. It has a mix of CVC words with a, e, i, o, and u. You have a variety to pick from. I recommend printing these on white cardstock and laminating. This will help them last longer.
There are two sets of flowers. There is a set of flowers that has three letters for each post and a set that has just the letters you need to make the CVC words. I have printed ours on white cardstock. I also recommend laminating them to help them last longer.
There is also a building mat you can use with this printable. It has a spot for the flower and the flower pot. There is also an area to write the word. I am currently storing ours in a sheet protector. But you could laminate this page as well.

The first way is to just match the flower to the pot. It is simple and easy to do. You can print off the letters you need for this and use it is in a center. This is a great way to work on the words.
Now if you are using the set of letters that have just a set of letters for the pots then you can up them on rings and flip through the letters. There is a set for beginning and ending sounds that match all the pots, plus all 5 vowels.
You can flip through the letters till you find the match for the flower pot. I put the beginning and end letters in alphabetical order.
I have also included a building mat. I love these since it adds in writing for the activity. I use the flower on the rings and the cards. You can go through the flower pots one at a time. Building the word and then write the word with a dry erase markers.
There is also a recording sheet with space for all 18 words. This is an easy way to keep track of what words they did.
