Hands-On Christmas Counting Mats for Numbers 1 to 10
I know that my girls love having consistent while they are learning. I often found when something works for them I would make several different seasons of the activity. That is why I’ve been going the counting mats over the different seasons.
This free Christmas counting mats were something that someone had requested because her class loved them. I love doing requests every now and then when I have time.
These match up with Christmas Addition & Subtraction Mats. That makes it fun to have when you have kids are different learning levels to have something similar.
The mats are great for kids working on their numbers 1 to 10. They are simple and easy to set up and make a great math center. Plus each one has a ten frame which is a great way for kids to work on learning. They use a lot of ten frames later in Kindergarten and for review First Grade.
Each of the mats has the number written out, a number for playdough, and ten frames. You can see how I set up each of the mats. I use playdough, christmas foam balls, and red glass gems. You can mix up the items you use on the tree. I have used the little light bulbs on it a few times.
I often laminate the pages if we are going to use them often. But if I’m out of laminating sheets I’ll use a sheet protector on the pages. Plus that makes it easy to store. I just put all the pages in the sheet protector.
You can see how we placed the glass gems in the ten frames and use the foam balls on the tree.
